April Spaghetti Feast

The April meeting of MAAG was held today at Earl Long's hangar at Dead Cow Airport. Earl made a large batch of delicious spaghetti and meat sauce. Thanks Earl! It was great.

The weather had been rainy the past day or so, making many of the local grass strips soggy. This forced a few folks to drive instead of fly in - one exception being the Boeing Stearman biplane pictured.

There were about 40 folks in attendance, with John Fleischam and family visiting. Come see us again!

We are interested in anything that flies! Even indoor radio controlled electric powered models! There was lots of great side dishes and deserts.

Inside the Hangar

It is always interesting to see the various projects and airplanes folks have inside their hangar.

Outside the Hanagr

Here are a few of the planes on the ramp.

These airplanes are part of the Jayhawk Wing of the Commemorative Air Force, also based at Westport Airport.

April Meeting Coming Soon

This is a reminder that the April meeting of MAAG will be on April 19 at 1:00 PM. Earl Long is hosting the event at Dead Cow International Airport (also known as Westport Airport, though no one really calls it that) in west Wichita. Earl is planning to make spaghetti with sauce. The rest of the membership is asked to bring other fixings. Maybe deserts, salads, bread, drinks, etc. Hope to see you all there!

As always, guests are welcome.

Ever wonder where the name Dead Cow International Airport came from? I googled it and found the following story. Click the following link:
