April MAAG Meeting at Hidden Valley

The Kansas MAAG met today at Wayne Bormann's recently completed hangar.  When asked why he built such a large hangar, he commented it was to hold the PT-19 he and Dick Curtis have been working on for a few years and hope to get into the air later this year.  The PT-19 is almost ready for cover and is a work of art as seen from the photos below.

About 40 people showed up for beef brisket today.  Three airplanes flew in, with most driving due to the wind and potential for severe weather later in the day.

This is how the PT-19 wing looked in May of 2009

April MAAG at Hidden Valley

The April MAAG meeting will be at the Hidden Valley Airport (46KS) near Valley Center, Kansas on April 14 at 1:00 PM.  Lunch and fun will be hosted by rresidents of the Hidden Valley airport at Wayne Bormann's new hangar.  They will be providing brisket and beverages.  Please bring a side dish.

If you are flying in, Hidden Valley is located next to the Big Ditch on the east side of Valley Center.  You have about 2600 feet of runway due to displaced thresholds.  The pattern is on the east side of the airport to avoid flying over town.  Wayne's hangar is cream with a green roof at the south end.

If you are driving, the address is 801 E. Allen; Valley Center;  67147.

Bring a friend and introduce them to the fun of antique airplanes!
