Oshkosh Bound!

Three DC-3's bound for Oshkosh made a lay over last night here in Wichita at Stearman Field. Hundreds of folks turned out to greet the crews and admire the airplanes.

My daughter, Kala, left for Oshkosh this morning flying right seat in a Beech Premier 1A business jet. I think she was beyond ecstatic. Dad was also a little jealous. Only 1:28 to get there. The Stinson will definitely be slower next year, but hopefully just as much fun.

Rucker Field Fly-In

There was a variety of aero machines gracing the skies yesterday at Rucker Field for the July MAAG gathering. The winds were light, runway dry, and temperatures not bad for July in Kansas. Steve Quick did a good job on the grill and others brought tasty side dishes and deserts. It was great way to relax, talk airplanes with friends, and just enjoy a nice evening.

July MAAG at Rucker Field

The July meeting of the MAAG will be this coming Sunday, July 11. Please note the eating time is pushed back to 5:00 PM to allow the sun to be on the other side of the hangar. However, feel free to fly in (or drive in) earlier if you like and visit. Hot dogs and hamburgers are on the menu. Please feel free to bring a side dish or desert. Drinks will be provided. As always, fiends are welcome.
