Cold day for January MAAG meeting
The MAAG met today at the Augusta, Kansas airport in a heated hangar courtesy of Air Capital Sales and Service. About 40 folks braved the below freezing temperatures including 7 who flew in. Don Horst flew his recently restored 1947 PA12 Super Cruiser to the event. This airplane had not flown in 50 years and was a basket case when Don started about 2 years ago. Don did a fantastic job restoring this classic airplane!
Next month's meeting will be the annual election of officers. Also, it is time to pay dues again....still only $15! We decided today to use some of the money in the treasury and make donations to appropriate aviation related organizations or scholarship funds.
Here are some shots of the fun:

January MAAG meeting tomorrow at 3AU
This month’s meeting will be Sunday, January 13th at Air Capital Aircraft Sales and Service in the main hangar at the Augusta Municipal Airport (3AU). Pat Reardon will be opening up his heated shop to our group. So if the weather is good, we can fly in and if not, it is only a short drive out to 3AU for the meeting.
Location: Main Hangar at Augusta Municipal Airport (3AU)
Host: Air Capital Aircraft Sales and Service, LLC (www.aircapitalaircraft.com)
Date: Sunday January 13th
Time: 1:00 PM
This will be a “pot luck” dinner so please bring something to share.
Let’s hope the weather will be great and we can fill a ramp full of airplanes and then get out of the cold breeze into the heated shop. Also, bring a friend!
