First Annual Gus Wiebe Memorial Fly-In a Success
Yesterday was the first annual Gus Wiebe memorial fly-in at the Halstead, Kansas airport. It was a good day for flying in the afternoon with light winds and moderate temperatures. The event kicked off with a missing man formation of Stearman biplanes over flying the field at 3:45PM as we toasted to the memory of Gus.
At least 250 family and friends attended the vent, including approximately 25 airplanes that flew in. Mark Wiebe smoked many pounds of beef and pork for the affair and others brought side dishes and deserts. Everyone had a great time reminiscing, reconnecting, and enjoying the fly-bys. I have mainly included pictures of airplanes not pictured in previous posts.
